Prost: Deutsche Bier! - Cheers: German Beer!

Out of request I have put together all of the beers that I have tried while being in Germany. So here are most of them, with some commentary and some have a picture to go along with it!

This one is a Berliner Pilsner which was my first beer in Germany (Also my first alcohol purchase). I liked it a lot. 

This one is Warsteiner which despite the cool glass it came in, I did not like it, I thought it was to bitter. 

This one is a Berliner Kindl  which was cheap and bearable, but I was not impressed. 

Another one that I tried, but there are no photographs is Becks original , I also didn’t like this one at all, I actually ended up giving it to one of my friends because it was so disgusting. 

Bitburger was all right, I was able to live through it.

Something else that I became fond of is a Radler, which is a mix between a Pils beer and lemonade. I think it is very refreshing and is nice to have on a summers evening chilling out with people.

A German friend recommended this beer to me when I went to Munich and I really liked it. It is the Augustiner Edelstoff and I actually got it at the brewery in Munich.  

The last trip I got to take my students on was a trip to a brewery in Donaueschingen called Fürstenberg. After a tour of the brewery we could try three different Fürstenberg beers. 

Round one was the  Fürstenberg Pils, which was bearably bitter 

Round two was the Edelbrau, which I liked better than the Pils, because it wasn't bitter. 

Round three was the alcohol free Zitrus, which I thought tasted more like Sprite than a beer, but it wasn't bad for a "Frauengetrank"

Hausherrenfest, München und Camp - Hausherrenfest, Munich und Camp

Diese letzte Woche war eigentlich cool. Sonntag und Montagabend sind ich und die Schülern zu dem Hausherrenfest gegangen. Dort habe ich die Meisten Leute, die ich in Radolfzell gesehen habe, gesehen.  Jedesmal haben wir alle auf die Bühne im Konzertsegel zu Musik von 1960 bis Heute getanzt. Dann am Dienstag sind sehr viele Schülern und ich Bowling spielen gegangen. Es war ein bisschen stressig, weil nicht alle haben zu gehört, trotzt dem hat es Spaß gemacht. Am Mittwoch war ich weider bei dem Rathaus, und hat versucht mich für meine Aufenthaltstitel zu abmelden, aber ich konnte nicht, weil ich ein Blatt vergessen hatte. Dann bin ich wieder am Donnerstag (ich musste eine Schüler anmelden, aber der Schlange war zu lang und so dann bin ich am Freitagmorgen gekommen und hat alles fertig gemacht. So jetzt habe ich eine zwei kommishe Blatter in meinen Pass, die sagen, dass ich darf hier in Deutschland für meine Praktikum bleiben! Während dieses "Spaß" habe ich Mittwochnachmittages frei gehabt, und habe ein Nickerchen gemacht. Leider ist niemand zum Stammtisch gekommen. Anstatt Stammtisch mit die Kinder habe ich mit Tobias und deine Freunde und Freundinnen gechillt. Ich habe es toll gefunden, weil ich mein Deutsch mit andre junge Deutscher üben konnte. Dann am Donnerstag wollte keine Schülern zum Strandbad gehen, so ich bin mit ein paar Tutoren und die Campkinderen gegangen. Nachdem ich mit dem Rathaus fertig war, habe ich ein Kanu-Tour mit den Campkindern und eine Gruppe von Schülern. Die Kanu-Tour war sehr schön und ich bin traurig, dass ich meine Kamera nicht mitgebracht habe. Danach habe ich meine Wäsche gewascht und geschlafen. 
Samstag war eine tolle Erfahrung, aber stressig. Die Schülern, Tobias und ich haben früh aufgewacht, und mit einen Zug nach München gefahren. Als wir in Lindau umgestiegen haben, gab kein mehr Sitzplatz auf dem Zug. Von Lindau bis München sind wir alle in dem Cafe-Zug  gesetzt und dann zurück von München bis Lindau sind wir alle in dem Fahrrad platzt gesetzt. Wir haben dass gemacht, weil wir ein Schönes-Wochenende Ticket gekauft haben, und so wir konnten kein Sitzplatz reservieren. Es war nur Pech, weil wir alle schlaffen möchten. Aber Trotzdem war München toll! Wir haben dem Olympiaturm gesiegt und dann in Gruppen geteilt. Eine Gruppe ist zu dem BMV Mesum gegangen, ein andre Einkaufen gegangen, und dann meine Gruppe ist durch die Stadt gelaufen, haben ein Bier getrunken und ein Veggie-Burger bei McDonalds gegessen (ich war überacht dass es gut geschmeckt hat). Ich habe nicht genug Geld mitgebracht um etwas zu kaufen, aber ich habe viele Fotos gemacht!
Dann am Sonntag hat Fußball und Tanzcamp angefangen. Alle sind angekommen und alle die Fußballern und ein Tänzerin haben Fußball gespielt. Eine Mädchen hat Heimweh, aber ich glaube es geht ihr besser jetzt. Es dauert bevor alle die Jungs schlaffen, aber  ich glaube alle haben Spaß! Obwohl die Jungs nerven manchmal, das Camp gefehlt mir besser als in die Schule zu arbeiten, aber ich glaube es ist, weil es Ähnlich zu mein früher Job mit dem Pfadfinders ist. Dann Gesternabend habe ich frei gehabt, so ich bin mit die andre Tutorinnen und Tobis Freunden von bevor in die Tankstelle gegangen. Wir haben alle zusammen geredet, und dann spät nach Hause gekommen. Ich mache dieses Post fertig mit ein paar Fotos. Bis mein nächste Pause!


 This last week has been pretty cool. Sunday and Monday evening I went with the students to the Hausherrenfest and there I saw the most people that I have ever seen in Radolfzell. Every evening we ended up danceing on the Stage to music from the 1960- today. Then on Tuesday we had lots of students sign up to to bowling (the most that have signed up for an event since I have been here) so that was exciting and stressfull getting everyone to listen and follow the rules, but I still enjoyed it. Then on Wednesday I went back to the court house to try and get my residence title, unfortunely I still needed a paper so I had to go back on Thursday (also to drop off another persons residence permit) but the line was too long, so I got to go back again on Friday morning where everything finally got sorted out and now I have some funky pages in my passport that say I am allowed to be in Germany! In the meanwhile I got the afternoon off on Wednesday and got a chance to catch up on my sleep. Unfortunately no students came to Stammtisch, so I ended up chilling with Tobias and some of his friends, which was cool because I got a chance to practice my German with real Germans (that are around my age) for a bit. Then on Thrusday none of the students wanted to go to the beach, so I went with some of the tutors and the camp kids. After getting done at the courthouse on Friday I helped a bit with some of the stuff around the school and then I got lunch with the camp kids and then went canoeing with the camp kids and some of the students at the school. Afterwards I hung out with the camp kids, did laundry and went to bed. 
Saturday was a little stressful but it was also a cool experience. The students, Tobias and myself woke up early and caught a train to Munich (changing trains in Lindau). The train from Lindau to Munich and back were packed so on the train to Munich we were sitting in the cafe car and on the way back we were sitting in the bike section on the floor. This was because we had just bought a group ticket  which does not included a seat assignment. It was only bad because all of us were so tired that we just wanted to sleep, which was harder to do on the floor or in the cafe car. Other than that we climbed the Olympiad tower and then split off into groups. Some went to the BMW museum, others went shopping and then my group walked around the sites in the city and then stopped for a beer and then McDonald's veggie burgers (which was surprisingly very tasty). I didn't bring enough money to buy anything, but I took lots of photos!
Then soccer and dance camps started on Sunday. All of the kids arrived and the football boys and one of the dance girls just played soccer the whole time. We had one girl that was very home sick, but she seems to be doing better. It took the boys a while to quiet down for bed, but everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and getting into the swing of things. I must admit that even though the boys can be troublesome I am enjoying it a bit more than working in the school, which is probably because it is more similar to working at boy scout camp. Then last night I had off, so I went out with some of the tutors and Tobis friends to the Tankstelle and we all just sat around and talked.  I will finish this post with Pictures! Alle meine WISPies

Meine Gute, ich habe in eine lange zeit nicht hier geschrieben!  Aber ich habe gedacht, dass es passieren würde. Ich kann auch nicht glauben, dass ein Monat schon vorbei ist! Also diese letzte Woche war interessant. Am Dienstag sind ein paar WISPies und ich zu NABU-Zentrum Mettnau gegangen, aber niemand war da. So wir sind spazieren gegangen, haben ein Turm gesteigt, Müken haben uns gegessen und haben eine schöne Ausblick von die Zentrum gesehen. Dann am Mittwoch hat ein von die WISPies Geburtstag, und weil sie Geburtstag hat, haben wir alle schön ausgekleidet und in eine Restaurant gegessen. Donnerstag war nicht besonders, aber Freitag bin ich und ein paar andre Schülern nach Konstanz gefahren. Wir möchten Bowling spielen, aber nach eine flache Umstieg, haben wir entschieden in der Stadt zu spazieren. Am Samstag habe ich spät geschlafen, dann habe ich gegrillt, und mit den Teilnehmern gefeiert. Dann am Sonntag sind mehr Teilnehmern gekommen, und so wir haben zusammen Abendessen gegessen. Montag war regnerisch und nicht sehr interessant. Dienstag habt die Teilnehmern Fußball gespielt, und dann ist Maciej und deine Freundin gekommen, und wir habe eine kleine Party für ein andre Schüler gemacht, weil diese Woche dein letzte ist. Gestern habe ich mich angemeldet und habe ein von der Schülern zum Arzt gebracht. Es war einbischen lustig, weil ich gedacht habe, dass Sven "bringt sie zu Krankenhaus" gesagt hat. Er sagt schon das er hat "Artzhaus" gesagt, aber ich glaube dass nicht. (okay nur ein Witz es ist Möglich, dass ich es falsch gehoert habe). So ich war verwirt, weil ich habe für ein Krankenhaus gesucht. Nach ich ein paar Leute angerufen habe, ist alles dann okay.  Am Abend war unsre erste Stammtisch, und meine WISPies haben mich schön zu machen entschiedet. Wir sind nach ein von Svens Lieblings Bars gegangen, und haben ein bischen von dem Spanien v. Portugal Spiel angeschaut. Danach sind wir früh ins Bett gegangen. Dann heute war ein bisschen stressig, weil wir uns für den neuen Teilnehmer vorbereiten müssen. Aber danach diese wahnwitzig Arbeitstag habe ich mit Leute gechillt und ich habe den WISPs mit ihre Projekte geholfen. Viele Schülern und ich haben dem Deutschland v. Italien Spiel bei einem Eiscafé an geschaut. Ich bin traurig, dass Deutschland verloren hat, aber ich glaube, dass die Schülern Spaß gehabt haben. Ich bin auch ein bisschen traurig, weil Morgen früh fahren meine WISPies nach ihren Praktikums in Stuttgart. Also ich bin müde und muss Morgen arbeiten so Guter Nacht und Bis Später!

Wow, I really haven't written in this in a really long time, but then again I figured something like this would happen. I can't believe that a month has already gone by....Any-who this last week (okay its been longer than a week, forgive me) has been inresting. Last Tuesday myself and some of the WISPs attempted to visit a Nature reserve, but no one was there, so we walked around ourselves, climbed a tower and got bit by mosquitoes, and saw a pretty good view of the reserve. Then on Wednesday it was one of the WISPies birthday so everyone got dressed up and went to dinner at a restaurant by the lake. Then I had an "emergency" and had to leave early. In reality though I had left to go pick up an ice cream cake! Nothing much happened on Thursday, but on Friday I went with some of the students to Constance. We were originally going to go bowling, but after some train difficulties we decided to just walk around Constance instead. Saturday I took the opportunity to sleep in and then grill with some of the students. Sunday more students came for the summer course, so I took them to dinner. Monday was rainy and not very exciting. Tuesday the students played soccer and then one of the previous students (from Poland) came by with a lady friend to celebrate another students (from Ukraine) last week at CDC. Then yesterday I registered with the town, but I also had to take one of the students to the doctors. Which was a little funny because I thought that Sven had said that I should take the to the hospital. So he printed me off directions, but when I arrived I thought I was looking for a hospital. It turns out I had made it to the correct location, I just needed to go up some stairs. Then that afternoon we had our first "Stammtisch" and the other Americans decided to lend me clothes and dress me up pretty for it. We went to one of the local bars and watched the Spain v. Portugal game for a bit, before coming back and going to bed early. Finally today was a little crazy at work, because we are getting ready for about 30 new participants, but afterwards I got a chance to chill with everyone and help the WISPs with their projects. Then I went with some of the students to watch the  Germany v. Italy game at an icecream place. While I am a little sad that Germany lost, I think everyone still had fun watching and cheering on the players. I am also a little sad because my WISPies are leaving early tomorow morning for their internships in Stuttgart. But most importantly I am tired  and need to work tomorrow, so Good Night and until next time
