Freitag war ein coole Tag wir haben alles für nachste Woche vorbereitet, und danach haben wir Brettspiele gespielt, und Eis gegessen. Am Abend haben wir ein Disco für die Teilnehmern gemacht. Ich war die DJ und dass hat Spaß gemacht. Es war einbischen warm, weil wir konnen nicht luften, aber ich glaube dass alle haben Spaß gehabt.
Samstag sind eine große Gruppe von Schülern, die neue Tutorin und ich nach Konstanz gefahren. Eine kleine Gruppe und ich haben den konstanzer Münsterturm gestiegen, und haben eine schöne Anblick gesehen. Danach haben wir italienisches Essen gegessen und zum See gegangen. Danach bin ich und ein paar zurück nach Radolfzell gefahren und die andre Gruppe (sie sind einkaufen gegangen und haben die Grenze zwischen die Schweiz und Deutschland besucht) sind später nach Hause gefahren. Im ganz war es ein schöne Tag.
Sonntag habe ich der ganze Tag gechillt, so dass war entspannend.
Diese letzte Woche hat Spaß gemacht, weil wir neue Tutors angekommen sind, und wir haben mit Camp-Vorberitung angefangen. Wir haben was wir machen müssen gelernt, und auch einander kennen gelernt. Das eingsige Sache, dass gar kein Spaß gemacht hat, war am Dienstag. Am Dienstag bin ich zum Rathaus gegangen, um meine electronishe ausweiss zu anmelden. Ich habe zwei Stunden gewartet, und dann hat der Mann zu mir gesagt, dass er nichts für mich machen kann, und dass ich muss wieder nächste Woche kommen. Ausserdem und ein paar problemen mit Kontracts für die andre Tutors, war diese Woche gut. Am Mittwoch sind wir nach Hohenwiel in Singen gefahren. Hohenwiel ist eine alte Schloss, die auf eine uralte Volcan gebaut war. Ich habe es super gefunden, weil alle können überall steigen und spazieren. Dann am Freitag haben die andre Tutors und ich den ganzen Tag gearbeitet und dann zu ein Dubstep-Reggae Abend in Konstanz gegangen sind, und es hat viel Spaß gemacht!!
Dann Gestern sind die Schülern, ein neue Tutor Tobias und ich nach Schaffhausen und Rheinfalls gefahren. Es war sehr schön, aber ich habe kein Schokolade gekauft. Anstatt Schokolade bin ich in ein Boot bei dem Rheinfalls gefahren.  Heute hat das Camp angefangen, aber ich werde nicht dort arbeiten, bis nächste Woche, weil ich muss bei dem Schule arbeiten. Dann spatter Heute gehen wir zu dem Hausherenfest! So Auf Wiederschreiben!


Alright so last Friday was pretty cool. We got set up for this week and then we played board games and ate gelatto. Then that afternoon we put on a disco for the students. I got to be the DJ, which was  lots of fun. it was a little warm, but I think everyone still had fun. 
Then on Saturday a group of students, the new tutor and myself went to Constance. A smaller section of the group went with me to the church to climb the tower, and saw an awesome view of the city. Then we had Italian food and walked over to the sea. Then some went to a movie, others went home, a couple went to the Germany-Switzerland boarder, and some hung around in Constance for a little while longer.
This past week was lots of fun as all but one of the tutors arrived and we started to work on stuff for the camps. We learned about our expectations and got to know each other a bit better. The one thing that was not fun going to the court house on Tuesday. I spent my entire morning there, only to find out that he couldn't do anything for me that day and I would have to come back next week. Other than a few issues with contracts for the other tutors the week was pretty good. On Wednesday we went to the Hohenwiel in Singen, which is an old ruin that was built on an ancient Volcano. I thought it was really cool, because we could climb around everywhere. Then on Friday the other tutors and myself worked most of the day, and then went to a Dubstep-Reggae night in Constance which was lots of fun!!
Then yesterday the new tutor Tobias and I went to Schaffhausen and Rheinfalls in Switzerland which was very pretty! I managed to resist buying chocolate, but I might get some when if I go back again. Instead of buying chocolate though, the students and I did a boat ride around the Rheinfalls, which was very pretty.  Then today the camp started, but I won't be working there until next week, because there are not a lot of kids and they need me at the school to help out Tobias. Later today though I will be going to the Hausherrenfest! so until I write again!

der Wahnsinn - The Insanity

Die letzte paar Tagen waren verrucht...aber manchmal passiert dass.
Freitag habe ich Sachen für die neue Schühlern vorbereitet, und dann habe ich tishtennis gespielt.
Sammstag sind die Schülern und ich nach Stuttgart gefahren, und haben dem Mercedes-Benz Museum besucht. Ich habe das Museum toll gefunden, nicht nur weil es viele Auto und Geschichte hat, sondern auch weil es Audio-Guides gab, damit zuhören können. Danach haben wir eine späte Mittagessen gegessen und durch die Stadt spazieren gegangen. Als wir zurück nach Hause mit dem Zug gefahren haben, habe ich gelernt, dass man mit dem Baden-Württemberg Ticket nicht mit dem IC Zug fahren darf. Glücklich war die Frau sehr nett, und die Schülern und ich waren nicht dafür bestraft. Dann als wir im Singen umgesteigt haben, haben wir gelernt, dass unsre Zug nach Radolfzell nicht fahren konnte, weil ein Baum gefallen ist. So dann haben wir eine halbe Stunde auf ein Bus gewartet. Als wir in Radolfzell angekommen sind, haben wir in eine Restaurant gegessen und dann mit andre Schülern gechillt. 
Sonntag war interessant, weil mein Mitarbeiter Sven in eine andre Stadt war, und er konnte nicht zurück fahren (kein Zug oder Bus sind gefahren, wegen schlechte Wetter). Aber er hat versucht zu Fuß zu gehen, aber dann habe ich nichts von ihm gehört. So ich muss allein mit den Schülern Abendessen gegessen. Trotzdem hat Abendessen geklappt und wir haben dem Spanien v. Italien Spiel gesehen. 
Dann Montag war verrückt und stressig, weil Sven nicht da war. Ich muss die Schülern zu Schule bringen, ein andre Tutorin von Bahnhof abholen und die Startführung machen. Aber trotzdem war alles gut. 
Dienstag ist Sven für ein kleine Zeit da, und ich habe Listen und Schilden gemacht und andre kleine Arbeit gemacht. Danach habe ich mich müde und traurig gefühlt und so bin ich spazieren gegangen und antisozial sein. Dann gestern war nicht so schlimm. Arbeit war gut, und ich habe Blaubeeren, Erdbeeren, Schlagsahne und Kuchen gefunden, und habe davon ein Nachtisch gemacht. Ich habe auch gelernt, dass Sven mit dein Vaters Druckfirma helfen muss, und so muss ich die neue Tutorien zeigen, wie alles beim CDC funktioniert. Ich bin froh dass nicht alle die Tutoren Ausländer sind, weil dann würde alles mehr verwirrend!
Heute war auch nicht so schilm. Wir haben mit Freizeit planen angefangen und andre Sachen gemacht. Leider können wir kein Tipis bauen, weil wir haben gedacht, dass das Wetter schlecht wird. So wir müssen dass nächste Woche machen. Also bis später!

4. Juli Nachtisch!

Last couple days have been a little crazy...but it happens.
Friday I finished preparing stuff  for the new students and then played pingpong with some of the students.
Saturday I took the students to Stuttgart to see the Mercedes-Benz Museum. The Museum was really cool, with lots of cars and history, they also offered audio guides that talked to you as you walked around the museum. Afterwards we went out and got lunch and chilled around the city. Later on the way home I learned that I could not ride the IC train with a Baden-Württemberg ticket. Luckily the lady was nice and told me to just get off at the next train station and ride the regional train. Normally when someone rides with out the proper ticket they are find 40 euros. (Traveling in Germany Tip #3: when you buy your ticket, make sure you know the circumstances, like what you can and cannot use [for example with the Baden-Württemberg ticket you can ride the regional trains and the city buses and S-Bahns). The afternoon got even more exciting it started to thunderstorm and we changed trains, only to find out that the train was not running because the storm took down a tree. So we ended up waiting a half an hour for a bus to take us back home. We ended Saturday with dinner at one of the local Italian places and chilling with the other students.
Sunday was exciting as new students showed up, and I got to take them to dinner. I was orginally going to go with my coworker, but he got stuck in another town and wasn't able to show up until Tuesday. After dinner the students and I hung around and watched the Spain v. Italy game and then went home.
Monday was crazy because my coworker was still stuck in the other city. So I ended up taking kids to school, picking up one of the new tutors, and leading the city tour.
Tuesday my coworker came back for a bit and I made some signs and lists, and did some other small jobs. Feeling pretty drained, I went for a walk and spent the afternoon being antisocial.
Thankfully yesterday was not as crazy. Work went over fairly well, but I also found out that my coworker has to help out with his dad's business. So until everything smooths over with his dad's work I get to help some of the new tutors figure out how this school works. Other than that I managed to find some blueberries, strawberries, a sponge cake and whipped cream to make a dessert to celebrate the 4th of July.
Today the insanity wasn't too bad, as we started to plan the free time activities for next week and get some small jobs done (buying tickets, figuring out where the camp is at and then taking the students to go play beach volleyball). We were going to put the tents up, we thought it was going to thunderstorm today, so it was decided to put it off until next week. And One Month Later - Und ein Monat Später

Alle meine WISPies

Meine Gute, ich habe in eine lange zeit nicht hier geschrieben!  Aber ich habe gedacht, dass es passieren würde. Ich kann auch nicht glauben, dass ein Monat schon vorbei ist! Also diese letzte Woche war interessant. Am Dienstag sind ein paar WISPies und ich zu NABU-Zentrum Mettnau gegangen, aber niemand war da. So wir sind spazieren gegangen, haben ein Turm gesteigt, Müken haben uns gegessen und haben eine schöne Ausblick von die Zentrum gesehen. Dann am Mittwoch hat ein von die WISPies Geburtstag, und weil sie Geburtstag hat, haben wir alle schön ausgekleidet und in eine Restaurant gegessen. Donnerstag war nicht besonders, aber Freitag bin ich und ein paar andre Schülern nach Konstanz gefahren. Wir möchten Bowling spielen, aber nach eine flache Umstieg, haben wir entschieden in der Stadt zu spazieren. Am Samstag habe ich spät geschlafen, dann habe ich gegrillt, und mit den Teilnehmern gefeiert. Dann am Sonntag sind mehr Teilnehmern gekommen, und so wir haben zusammen Abendessen gegessen. Montag war regnerisch und nicht sehr interessant. Dienstag habt die Teilnehmern Fußball gespielt, und dann ist Maciej und deine Freundin gekommen, und wir habe eine kleine Party für ein andre Schüler gemacht, weil diese Woche dein letzte ist. Gestern habe ich mich angemeldet und habe ein von der Schülern zum Arzt gebracht. Es war einbischen lustig, weil ich gedacht habe, dass Sven "bringt sie zu Krankenhaus" gesagt hat. Er sagt schon das er hat "Artzhaus" gesagt, aber ich glaube dass nicht. (okay nur ein Witz es ist Möglich, dass ich es falsch gehoert habe). So ich war verwirt, weil ich habe für ein Krankenhaus gesucht. Nach ich ein paar Leute angerufen habe, ist alles dann okay.  Am Abend war unsre erste Stammtisch, und meine WISPies haben mich schön zu machen entschiedet. Wir sind nach ein von Svens Lieblings Bars gegangen, und haben ein bischen von dem Spanien v. Portugal Spiel angeschaut. Danach sind wir früh ins Bett gegangen. Dann heute war ein bisschen stressig, weil wir uns für den neuen Teilnehmer vorbereiten müssen. Aber danach diese wahnwitzig Arbeitstag habe ich mit Leute gechillt und ich habe den WISPs mit ihre Projekte geholfen. Viele Schülern und ich haben dem Deutschland v. Italien Spiel bei einem Eiscafé an geschaut. Ich bin traurig, dass Deutschland verloren hat, aber ich glaube, dass die Schülern Spaß gehabt haben. Ich bin auch ein bisschen traurig, weil Morgen früh fahren meine WISPies nach ihren Praktikums in Stuttgart. Also ich bin müde und muss Morgen arbeiten so Guter Nacht und Bis Später!

Wow, I really haven't written in this in a really long time, but then again I figured something like this would happen. I can't believe that a month has already gone by....Any-who this last week (okay its been longer than a week, forgive me) has been inresting. Last Tuesday myself and some of the WISPs attempted to visit a Nature reserve, but no one was there, so we walked around ourselves, climbed a tower and got bit by mosquitoes, and saw a pretty good view of the reserve. Then on Wednesday it was one of the WISPies birthday so everyone got dressed up and went to dinner at a restaurant by the lake. Then I had an "emergency" and had to leave early. In reality though I had left to go pick up an ice cream cake! Nothing much happened on Thursday, but on Friday I went with some of the students to Constance. We were originally going to go bowling, but after some train difficulties we decided to just walk around Constance instead. Saturday I took the opportunity to sleep in and then grill with some of the students. Sunday more students came for the summer course, so I took them to dinner. Monday was rainy and not very exciting. Tuesday the students played soccer and then one of the previous students (from Poland) came by with a lady friend to celebrate another students (from Ukraine) last week at CDC. Then yesterday I registered with the town, but I also had to take one of the students to the doctors. Which was a little funny because I thought that Sven had said that I should take the to the hospital. So he printed me off directions, but when I arrived I thought I was looking for a hospital. It turns out I had made it to the correct location, I just needed to go up some stairs. Then that afternoon we had our first "Stammtisch" and the other Americans decided to lend me clothes and dress me up pretty for it. We went to one of the local bars and watched the Spain v. Portugal game for a bit, before coming back and going to bed early. Finally today was a little crazy at work, because we are getting ready for about 30 new participants, but afterwards I got a chance to chill with everyone and help the WISPs with their projects. Then I went with some of the students to watch the  Germany v. Italy game at an icecream place. While I am a little sad that Germany lost, I think everyone still had fun watching and cheering on the players. I am also a little sad because my WISPies are leaving early tomorow morning for their internships in Stuttgart. But most importantly I am tired  and need to work tomorrow, so Good Night and until next time

Diese letzte paar Tagen war sehr interessant, warm, und haben viel Spaß gemacht (ohne der Tag wo ich viel Papierarbeit machen muss und ein Proctor für eine Prüfung war). Nach dem Fußballspiel am Mittwoch habe ich mit ein paar Amerikanerinnen über "Gott und die Welt" diskutiert. Dann am Donnerstag nach der Papier-arbeite und Exam, hat ein Italiener Pasta für alle gekochte, und es hat lecker geschmeckt. Nach Abendessen haben wir ein Tanzpartie gehabt. Am Freitag gab es mehr Papierarbeit, aber danach bin ich mit andre Leute rudern gegangen, und wir haben viele schöne Sachen gesehen. Dann war ich früh ins Bett gegangen, aber ein bisschen spät aufgewacht, wegen meine Wecker. Trotzdem sind die Teilnehmern und ich sicher zum Bahnhof gekommen und nach Freiburg gefahren. Wir waren alle müde, aber haben mit ein andre gelacht und gesprochen. Ich hatte eine interessante Diskussion mit dem Italiener über die Unterschieden zwischen den USA und Italien, und lustige Geschichten mit den Amerikanern, gesprochen. Den ganze Tag haben wir uns in Freiburg verlaufen, obwohl ich eine Landkarte gekauft habe. Wir haben versucht dem Schlossberg zu besuchen, aber wir sind überall spazieren gegangen.Wir haben dem Münsterturm, Stadtgarten, und dem Markt besucht. Danach haben wir Bubble Tea probiert, und ich habe es lecker gefunden. Als wir zurück von Freiburg mit dem Zug gefahren war, hat ein Mann uns gefragt, ob wir Amerikanern sind. Ich habe ja gesagt, und dann hat er deine Meinung über Bush und Obama gesagt. Es war ein bisschen merkwürdig für mich, weil Amerikanern über Politik mit Fremdren nicht sprechen würden. Nach diese interessant Erfahrung, sind wir alle zu Hause gekommen, und haben mit andre Leute gegrillt. Am Sonntag habe ich spät geschlafen, und haben versucht mit die andre in ein Flash-Mob teil zu nehmen, aber wir waren nicht pünktlich, und so sind wir Tretboot gefahren und in See gesprungen. Danach haben wir McDonalds gegessen und dann versucht ein Flohmarkt in Konstanz zu besuchen, aber wir waren zu spät. Obwohl wir zu spät gekommen sind, sind wir zu einen Irish Pub gegangen, und haben dem Fußballspiel und die verrückte Fans angeschaut. Dann war Heute eine müde Montag. Mein Mitarbeiter ist noch ein bisschen krank, aber hoffentlich kommt er Morgen zurück. Ein paar neue Schüler sind gekommen, und ein paar Leute und ich hatten bei dem See chillen. Nach alles habe ich Essen gekauft, mit Freundin und Familie geskypet. So bis etwas besonders passiert!

Von dem Weg nach Schlossberg

 The last couple of days have been pretty exciting, with sunny warm weather and lots of fun (with the exception of the days I had to do paperwork and proctor a test). After the soccer game on Wednesday, I stayed up talking with a couple of the other girls in the building. Then on Thursday after my paperwork and test proctor duties, an Italian guy that lives in the building cooked dinner for everyone, so I got a free tasty bowl of pasta and then everyone decided to have a dance party. Friday was more paperwork, but then afterwards I went with a couple of guys to Lake Constance and went rowing. Then that night I went to bed early, and then woke up in the nick of time to get ready to go to Freiburg with the students. Everyone was falling asleep on the train ride over, but I we still found the energy to joke around and talk. Once we got to Freiburg, we stopped to get maps and lunch. Then we all got lost trying to find the Schlossberg, but we went up most of the way and saw some great views. Then we puttered around the city and saw the church, city garden and what was left of the market. While we where there we decided to partake in the most recent German obsession, Bubble Tea. I decided to get green honeydew tea with strawberry bubbles and I thought it was good. Then on the way back from Freiburg I also got to experience my first random political discussion with a German. He asked us if we were from America and I answered that I was. He then started up a conversation about the recent American presidents. After this great adventure we managed to get back in time to grill with some of the other folks in the guest house. The next day a couple of us attempted to participate in a flash mob, but there was some poor planing, so we just ended up staying in Radolfzell and jumping into the lake from a paddle boat. After we munched on McDonalds and then myself and another girl attempted to go to a flea market, but got there to late. We made it in time for the Germany v. Denmark game so we hung out at an Irish pub and watch Constance get crazy after the win. Then today was just a sleepy Monday. A couple of new students showed up and then some of the Americans and myself just went and chilled near the lake. I finished my "action" filled day with some grocery shopping and some skype dates. Until something exciting happens!

Kinder und Sport - Kids and Sports

 Nicht viel ist in diese letzte paar Tagen passiert. Ich glaube, dass alle die Amerikanern Spaß haben. Sie haben Konstance gern, weil es ein Uni-Stadt ist. Diese Amerikanern nehmen in ein Programm, das WISP heißt, und bei diesem Programm lernen sie für ein Monat Deutsch, und dann arbeiten sie irgendwo in Baden-Württemberg. Alle haben versucht, zu meine Programmen zu gehen. Leider ist das Wetter kalt, und es regnet fast jeden Tag. Am Donnerstag hat der Regen für Basketball spielen aufgehört, aber als die WISPs und ich nach Engen gefahren haben, hat den Regen wieder angefangen. Die WISPs und die Kindern von dem Englischcamp haben mit ein andre gesprochen. Ich glaube, dass beide die Kindern und die WISPs haben Spaß gehabt, obwohl die WISPs ganz nass waren. Das Haus für das Camp ist wunderschön, und von was die Tutoren gesagt haben, ist das Essen lecker ist. 
Dann am Freitag habe ich nicht viel gemacht, aber Samstag war ein interessanter Tag. Zuerst ist ein Kind in einem Zimmer abgeschlossen, und dann ein von den WISPs hat sich im Dachstock abgeschlossen. Als alle niemand mehr in den Zimmer abgeschlossen war, sind ein paar von den WISPs und ich zu ein Live Viewing des Fußballspiels gegangen. Danach war ein kleines Party, weil der englisch Lehrer und Vicky heute weg fahren, und auch weil Deutschland dem Spiel gewonnen hat. Also in ein paar Stunden kommen neue Schülern! So ich muss gehen. Lets see nothing really special has happened. Most of my Americans seem to be enjoying themselves. They especially seem to like Constance (I think it is because Constance has more of a university atmosphere then here in Radolfzell, though I don't mind). One of the things that I forgot to mention was the program they are in. They are all in a work immersion study program or WISP which is a program offered though Cultural Vistas (the same group I went though). They were all good sports and have been trying to attend my events that I held this week. Unfortunately the weather has been rainy and cold and will continue like this for a while. On Thursday the sun came out long enough for some of the students to play basketball with each other. But then the rain came back that night when we (the WISPs and myself) went to go visit the children's English Camp in Engel. The house they get to say in is gorgeous and apparently the food is really good (according to the Tutors that watch over the kids). The kids and the WISPs seemed to have a great time talking and asking questions about Germany and the USA so despite being a little wet, the night was a success! Friday I did not do much, but on Saturday there was a lot of excitement. In the morning the young son of my neighbor locked himself in the room. (the had left the keys in the door and he managed to shut the door and turn the key, but then couldn't figure out how to turn it back or take the key out of the door). The landlords son ended up drilling the lock out. Then one of the WISPs locked himself up in the attic in an attempt to get better internet and all the landlord had to do to try and get him out was just pull on the handle really hard (after about 3 or 4 of us had tried to pick the lock to get him out....). Afterward a couple of us went to a live viewing of the German v. Portugal game. After the game we went back to the house and hung out with a couple of people because the English teacher and Vicky are leaving today and also because Germany won that game! Well I get to go welcome some more new students! Till next time!

Das Leben der Turorin - The life of a Tutor

Ich sollte mehr in diesem Blog schreiben, aber ich habe bevor gesagt, dass ich mich diese Sachen nicht gut bin.

Letzte Donnerstag habe ich mein Buskarte bekommt, und ich habe mit dem B1 Klasse teilgenommen. Es war auch die Geburtstag meiner Mitwohnirin Vicky, und so bin ich mit Sven, Vicky und ein Freundin von ihr ins Rewe gegangen. Danach habe ich versucht, mit dem Essen zu helfen, und ich glaube dass es geklappt hat. Während des Partys haben wir mit ein andre über alles diskutiert, und ich habe neue Leute kennen gelernt. Es hat Spaß gemacht.

Am Freitag habe ich die Schule mit der Vorbereitung geholfen. Ich habe Fahrplanen und Stadtplanen abgeholt, um dass die neue amerikanische Schülern etwas zu lesen haben.  Der Hausmeister hat mir gesagt, das er gedacht hat, dass ich ein Deutscher war, wegen meines schönes Deutsches. Obwohl er das gesagt hat, glaube ich schon, dass ich Probleme habe. Am Meisten wenn ich von Englisch wieder in Deutsch geht, weil ich glaube, dass mein Deutsch so schlecht hört.

Dann am Samstag, bin ich zu eine Hochzeit gegangen, aber nur zu gratulieren. Bevor am Freitag hat der Sven und ich ein Schild gemalt, um die Hochzeitspaar zu gratulieren. Ich habe nur die Braut (weil ich meine Interview mit sie gemacht habe) und ein paar mit Arbeitern gekannt. Die Braut hat sehr schön ausgesehen.

Am Sonntag sind die Amerikanern gekommen. Ich habe wieder als eine Übersetzerin für die Schülern und der Hausmeister gearbeitet. Nachdem sie alles ausgepackt haben, haben wir eine Stadtbesuch gemacht, und sie habe eine Prüfung gemacht. Ich glaube, dass soweit  sie es gern haben.

Dann heute sind die Schülern und Ich mit dem Bus zu Schule gefahren, damit sie lernen wie das Bussystem funktioniert. Ich habe die Tutors für das englisch Kindercamp  kennen gelernt. Dann habe ich die Schülern die Deutsch lernen, das Freizeitprogramm gegeben. Obwohl niemand ist zu das Freizeitprogramm heute gekommen. Ich habe einen neuen Beamer fachlich gemacht! Aber ich war auch ein bisschen traurig, dass niemand zu mein Freizeitprogramm gekommen ist. (Wir sollten den Film "Das Leben der Anderen" sehen, und das ist warum die Titel ist "Das Leben der Tutorin" ist. Ich habe es lustig gefunden...). In diese traurige Moment habe mich allein gefühlt. Es ist schwer für mich neue Leuten kennen zu lernen, aber ich muss erinnern, dass ich habe schon ein paar Leute schon getroffen habe, und ich habe noch Zeit Leute kennen zu lernen. Ich mich aber hoffentlich kommen sie zu die andren Freizeitprogrammen. Danach bin ich zurück zu dem Gästehaus gegangen, und dann wieder mit Vicky einkaufen gegangen. Dann haben wir zusammen Abendessen gekocht. wir haben Curry, Kimchi und Grillenfleich gegessen, und es war lecker.

I've been pretty bad about updating this, but I will try to remember everything  that has happned in the last couple of days.
Last Thursday I got my bus card and hung out in the B1 class. It was also Vicky's (one of the girls I am living with) Birthday. So after everyone got done with class I went with Sven, Vicky and her friend to the grocery store to help carry food. I then attempted to help prep some of the food....which judging by the few leftovers neither myself or the other cooks didn't do anything terrible. We then sat around and talked with everyone that came by to wish Vicky a happy birthday.
Friday, I helped the school get ready to welcome ten new students from America to CDC, by organizing a classroom and grabbing some pamphlets for them to read. The Landlord also stopped by to help get everything ready, and told me that he was surprised that I was an American, because my German was so good. Even though he said that, I still have issues because when I switch, my German sounds terrible. (at least to me).
Then on Saturday I stopped by a wedding for a bit, to say congratulations, but I didn't know anyone there, other than the Bride (who interviewed me for this job) and a couple of people from work. But the bride looked gorgeous.
Sunday a group of Americans came and I got to play translator between the Landlord and the students. After they had unpacked a bit, I led them on a tour, stopped by a place to eat and then proctored their pre-test. I think everyone is settling in alright. So far they seem to be enjoying themselves.
Then today, myself and the new American students took the bus to the school, so they could learn what class they were in. Afterward I got to meet some of the tutors for the English camp and inform the students learning German what the leisure program is for this week. Although no body showed up for today's, (we were going to watch "The Lives of Others" which is why the title is "the Life of a Tutor" I thought it was good....). I managed to get a projector working! Afterwards I walked back and then went with Vicky to pick up food and we cooked dinner together. We made curry, kimchi, and some left over grilling meat, so over all pretty tasty.
Alright, now I am going to go to bed! Night all!

So Far - So Weit

  Ich habe nur zwei Tagen gearbeitet, aber so weit mag ich es. Gestern habe ich mit ein A1 Klasse teilgenommen und merkt wie alles gemacht ist. A1 ist die Klasse wo die Schülern kein Deutsch kennen. Der Lehrer oder die Lehrerin spricht die ganze zeit Deutsch, und versucht mit Bildern oder mit ähnliche deutsche Worte alles erklären.  Ich finde es gut, weil die Schülern von über all komme (China, Japan, Iran, Südkorea, und so weiter), aber ich glaube es verwirrend sein sollte... Nach lernen, bin ich mit den andren Schülern Eis essen. Nachdem habe ich ein SIM Karte und Minuten für mein Handei und Essen gekauft. (Reisen in Deutschland Tipp #2: Sie sollten ihre eigene Taschen mitbringen, oder dann müssen sie 20 Pfennig bezahlen).

Heute bin ich und ein Schülerin mit dem Bus zur Arbeit gefahren. Ich möchte zu erst sagen wie gut ich dem Bus gefunden habe. Ich habe es sauber, und angenehmer als in den USA, aber vielleicht denke ich dass nur weil ich in diese "Hochzeitsreise" Stelle bin? Also. Anstatt mit A1 war ich heute mit A2, und dann habe ich schnell gelernt wir die Mediothek funktioniert. Die Mediothek ist wo die Schülern ihren Deutsch üben kann. Es gibt Lesetexte, Dialog, MP3 und CD Spielern, und viel anders. Danach habe ich mit den neuen Englischlehrer, der aus Großbritannien kommt. Er wird mit dem Englischcamp arbeiten. Ich habe auch heute gelernt, was ich, als Tutor machen werde. Der Sven hat mir gesagt, dass er mit dem Englischcamp hilft. So muss ich die Freizeitprogramm für die Schülern planen, und dann mit mache. Ich sorge mich nur, weil ich Angst habe, dass ich mich in eine fremde Platz mit Schülern verlaufe. Also...

Es hat früher donnert, blitzt und regnet. Jetzt ist es schön. Die letzte paar Tagen waren ein bisschen warm. 

So weit...So gut!!


I have only been at work for two days, but I am enjoying it so far. Yesterday I sat in on the A1 class (the beginners class, so they don't speak German) and saw how everything is done. They do everything here in German, even for the beginners. I think it is good, especially because the students come from around the world (China, Japan, Iran, Korea, among others so there is no common language [thats kindof a lie many of the know English]), but I think is must be so confusing for them...After class was over, I went with some of the students to get some gelato. Afterwards I was able to get a SIM card and some minutes for my phone so that I can no communicate with people here. Afterwards I went food shopping (Traveling in Germany Tip #2: when food shopping bring your own bag or you have to pay 20 euro cents for one).

Then today I took the bus to work and sat in on the A2 class. Let me take a moment to appreciate the German bus system. I felt like it was so much cleaner and pleasant then taking the buses in America, but maybe I am still in my Honeymoon stage? Anyway after lunch I got a crash course in how the media system works. Essentially it is reading, listening, grammar and pronunciation practice and the students come and get work books, texts or media players so that they can work on their German. Afterwards I was introduced to a new English teacher from Britain. Then I talked with the other tutor Sven about what I will be doing, because I am taking his place when he leaves to teach the English camp. It turns out I will eventually be planning events for the students. My main concern is that we have the option to go outside of Radolfzell and I am a little nervous that I will end up getting lost with a bunch of students... oh well...
