Prost: Deutsche Bier! - Cheers: German Beer!

Out of request I have put together all of the beers that I have tried while being in Germany. So here are most of them, with some commentary and some have a picture to go along with it!

This one is a Berliner Pilsner which was my first beer in Germany (Also my first alcohol purchase). I liked it a lot. 

This one is Warsteiner which despite the cool glass it came in, I did not like it, I thought it was to bitter. 

This one is a Berliner Kindl  which was cheap and bearable, but I was not impressed. 

Another one that I tried, but there are no photographs is Becks original , I also didn’t like this one at all, I actually ended up giving it to one of my friends because it was so disgusting. 

Bitburger was all right, I was able to live through it.

Something else that I became fond of is a Radler, which is a mix between a Pils beer and lemonade. I think it is very refreshing and is nice to have on a summers evening chilling out with people.

A German friend recommended this beer to me when I went to Munich and I really liked it. It is the Augustiner Edelstoff and I actually got it at the brewery in Munich.  

The last trip I got to take my students on was a trip to a brewery in Donaueschingen called Fürstenberg. After a tour of the brewery we could try three different Fürstenberg beers. 

Round one was the  Fürstenberg Pils, which was bearably bitter 

Round two was the Edelbrau, which I liked better than the Pils, because it wasn't bitter. 

Round three was the alcohol free Zitrus, which I thought tasted more like Sprite than a beer, but it wasn't bad for a "Frauengetrank"

Die Letzte Woche und die Fahrt nach Hause - The Last Week and the Trip Home

Meine letzte Wochen hat schlecht angefangen, weil jemand mein Geld gekalut hat. (Reisenrat: Versteckt dein Geld!). Montag in gemeinsam war ein trauriger Tag fuer mich, als ich bemerkt, dass ich am Wochenende nach Hause fliege. Dienstag war besser, aber ein bisschen langweilig, weil ich nichts gemacht habe. Am Mittwoch habe ich mit einen Freund von mir gechillt, und geredet über wie ich nach dem Flughafen fahren sollte. Er hat gesagt, dass er mich nach Zürich fahren könnte. Dann am Donnerstag, haben die Schülern, ein neue Tutor Johannas und ich mein Lieblings Ausflug gemacht. Wir sind nach Hohentwiel gefahren, und haben diese Burg gestiegen. Es war so schön, und dieses mal hat mein Mitarbeiter Fotos von mir gemacht. Dann am Freitag, haben wir ein Brauerei in Donaueschingen besucht, und dass war cool, weil am Ende wir drei Biers probieren dürfen. Leider konnte ich kein Fotos von drinnen machen, aber die Tour war sehr interessant, obwohl ich nicht alles verstanden habe. Als wir zurück in Radolfzell gekommen sind, habe ich Tschüss und Auf wiedersehen gesagt zu alle die Leute, die ich kennen gelernt habe, und bin spät ins Bett gegangen. Dann um 3:00 Uhr bin ich aufgewacht und ein Freund von mir hat mir nach Zürich gefahren. Dort hat alles geklappt, und ich bin mit dem Flugzeug nach Copenhagen geflogen. Auf dem Flugzeug gab es Croissants zum Frühstück, anstatt Erdnüsse oder Bretzeln wie in den USA. Ich bin in Copenhangen gekommen, und habe ein Spaziergang gemacht, und dann bin ich mit dem Flugzeug nach Washington DC geflogen. Es war lang, und ab und zu gab es Turbulance, aber es war puenktlich! Alles mit dem Zoll hat geklapt, aber es war einbischen lustig, weil es Schilden gab und diese Schilden sagen "Worauf wartest du?". Meine erste Gedanke war: "ich warte auf mein Land zu sagen, dass ich nach Hause kommen kann". Dann haben meine Eltern mich abgeholt, und ich bin ein paar Stunden zu Hause, und dann zu Uni gefahren.


Zu letzte möchte ich nur Danke zu alle die mein Blog gelesen haben, und mit erfahren haben! Ich habe zwei mehr Posts, die ich fertig machen muss, und dann ist dieser Blog fertig, bis ich wieder nach Deutschland gehe!



My last week at the CDC started off on the wrong foot, as I discovered that someone had stolen my money (Trip Tip #? Hid your money well!), So Monday was a crappy day. Tuesday was better, but nothing exciting happened. On monday I got to hang out with on of my friends and we talked about how I was going to get to the air port.  He told me he could drive me there. Then on Thursday I went with the students and a new tutor Johannes on my favorite excursion to the Hohtenweil in Singen. I was very pretty, and I got to climb around more this time. Then on Friday I went on my last excursion to a brewery in Donauechingen. It was really cool, but we weren't allowed to take photos during the tour. After the tour we were allowed to sample three beers. Then when we got into Radoflzell I hung out and said good bye to people, and then went to bed really late. Then at three in the morning my friend drove me to Zurich. Check in and flight to Copenhagen went well. While at Copenhagen I walked around, went though boarder control and the caught my flight to DC. The flight was long, and occasionally bumpy, but it arrived on time! I managed to make it though customs just fine. It was kind of funny though, because they have signs that say "what are you waiting for" and my first thought was "for my country to let me back in". My parents picked me up and I got to spend a few hours at home before I had to drive down to school.

• My boss was actually trying to tell me, to tell Anthony something.....

Die über Chefin: Madeline können sie Anthony sagen? (how I interpreted it: Can you say Anthony?)
Me (denken): Ja natürlich kann ich Anthony sagen...... (Me thinking: of course I can say Anthony....)

• In this case the computer was being slow, and so I told Sven that the computer likes me more (because it had been working fine for me before).
  

 Me: Ich denke, dass der Computer mich mochte (I think the computer likes me more)

Sven: Ja, it must be masculine, and that is why it hates me...of course its male it's der Computer!

• Skypeing with my mom and dad and they told me that they were going to try to skype me in to my brother's graduation party

Me: okay so I have to be on around 10pm German time on Sunday....(look to go write it in my planner) wait that is when  the Germany vs. Denmark game is...this might be a tricky decision.

Noch eine Woche - Only one more Week!

Ich weiss dass diese Post ein bisschen spät ist, aber...es ist egal, ich habe nicht sehr viel zu erzahlt.
So überletzte Samstag war ich in Europa Park mit den Kindern von den Camps, und ich habe mit meiner erster Achterbahn gefahren. Leider konnte ich die große silbere order die neue hölzern Achterbahn nicht fahren. Dann die zweite Woche von Camps war chaotisch mit fünfzehn Fußballern und neun Tänzerin, aber alle leben noch! Dann letzte Samstag sind die Kindern, zwei andre Tutoren und ich nach Schwarzwald gefahren, und haben ein Klettergarten besucht. Ich habe nur Tour 1 gemacht, aber es hat Spaß gemacht. Diese Ausflug war stressig, weil wir mit dem Zug gefahren haben, und wir müssen auf den Kindern aufpassen. Diese letzte Woche war nicht stressig mit nur sieben Fußballern und zehn Tänzerinnen. Ein von der Tänzerin hat ihre Geburstag am Dienstag. So die andre Tutoren und ich haben ein Überraschungsparty für sie geplant. Ich glaube dass alle haben Spaß gehabt. Am Mittwoch war ich mit den Abenteuercamp, und ich habe mit Floß bauen geholfen. Dann am Donnerstag war ich wieder mit meine Fußballern. Nach dem Fußballtraining sind wir alle schwimmen gegangen, und dann haben ein Eis gegessen. Am Freitag gab es viele Tränen von die Schülern (aber noch mehr am Samstag als sie alle abgereist waren). Trotzdem bin ich froh dass alle die Schülern eine Möglichkeit Leute aus andre Ländern zu treffen gehabt haben.
Dann Gester nachdem die Kindern abgereist waren, bin ich in Radolfzell spazieren gegangen, und dann die andre Tutoren und ich haben Pizza gegessen und Party gemacht, weil es unsre letzte Tag zusammen war. Dann heute morgen haben ein paar Tutorien und ich Frühstück gegessen, und dann Tschüss gesagt. Jetzt ist es nur die zwei neue Tutors, Tobias und ich. Ich bin traurig, weil die alle weg sind, aber ich hoffe, dass mit Facebook, Skype, und emailen ich werde diese Freundschaften nicht verlieren.
Ich weiss noch nicht, ob ich noch ein Blogpost schreiben kann, bevor ich nach Amerika fliege, aber naja...bis nächstes mal!


Okay so this is a little bit late.....but whatever I do not have much to say.

So the previous Saturday I got to go to Europa Park with the kids from the camps and got to ride my first roller coaster! Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to ride the big silver one or the new wood one, but I had fun anyway. The second week with the soccer camp was chaotic with 15 boys and 9 girls to watch over, but it everyone survived. Then the Saturday after we went to the Black Forest to go climbing on a high ropes course. I only did the first level, but it was really cool getting a chance to climb around. It was a little stressful because we had to take the kids on the train and make sure that we didn't lose anyone, but everyone made it back safe and sound. Then this past week was more relaxing, with only 7 boys and 10 girls. On Tuesday one of the girls had a birthday, so the other tutors and myself organized a surprise birthday party for her. She seemed to be really happy about it and I think the other kids had fun as well. On Wednesday I had to help out with the adventure camp, so I got to help build a raft and go swimming. Thursday I was back in the soccer camp and after the soccer training everyone went swimming and the got ice cream. Friday there was a lot of tears from the campers as the dancers finished their last performance and then even more tears as everyone left on Saturday. I am glad that these kids got a chance to become friends with people from around the world (the camps include kids from Germany learning English and then also kids from around the world coming to learn German) and also improve their language skills.
Then yesterday after the kids left I got a chance to walk around Radolfzell again, and then the other Tutors and myself met up to eat pizza and party before everyone had to leave. Then this morning those of us that were left had breakfast with each other and then said our last good byes. Now it is just me, two new tutors and Tobias. I am sad that everyone has left, but I hope that with facebook, skype and email I can still keep in touch with everyone.

I will have to see if I get a chance to write something before I head back to the USA,  until next time!
